I have a writing project I'm starting to work on. I'd like to discuss it with people, but my past history shows I've never been motivated to finish anything book-length if I talk about it, so I'm in a bad position. Especially as this is nonfiction and editorial-like, which is its own kind of hard. Toiling, or even getting started, on anything even mildly creative in enforced but necessary solitude and secrecy is rough.
What's really hamstringing me is this fanfic I must finish for last year's FTH fundraiser. I made a promise and I need to keep it. But every time I go to write anything else, it looms over me as a barrier. And it sucks because the recipient deserves their story and my writing block on fiction and my career stalls aren't their fault.
I need to make a schedule and write X on the days I set, and Y on other days I set. Just putting the idea here, maybe that'll help me go further on both.
